60+
1000+
Double
Fully

Hey there! I’m Nate, the owner of Riverview Decks. I learned from when I was a kid what decks are really for. Every Sunday, rain or shine, my dad cooked dinner outside on our deck.
No excuses. That was the rule. It didn’t matter what else was going on: we showed up, sat down, and shared a meal as a family. Those nights shaped everything: how we stayed close, how we communicated, how we appreciated the little things.
Now, with every deck I build, I try to recreate that feeling for other people. If I can help you create a beautiful deck where your family comes together, connects, and makes new memories, I’ve done my job.
Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution. They took care of all of the permits and worked with the city to get everything approved.
Their attention to detail and craftsmanship were beyond expectations. We couldn’t be happier with how our new deck turned out and their staff was nothing but true southern hospitality.
Why Etowah Decks Need Different Thinking
Etowah’s in McMinn County between the Hiwassee River and Starr Mountain, which creates conditions most builders don’t account for. The valley traps humidity that sits heavy all summer. Rain comes sideways when storms roll through. Winter isn’t just cold, it’s freeze and thaw on repeat, which destroys materials from the inside out. You’ve got space on most properties here for something worthwhile outside, but wood won’t make it five years before problems show up.
We use composite because it survives. Water doesn’t penetrate it, bugs ignore it, and temperature swings don’t cause warping or splitting. Framing matters just as much. The ground moves differently here than it does twenty miles away, and if the foundation isn’t set right, you’ll see it in how the deck sits within a year.

Deck Replacement
When you step on a board and feel it give, or when railings wobble if you lean against them, repairs won’t solve the real problem. The frame’s compromised, and putting new material over bad structure just wastes money.
We pull everything out, look at what’s underneath, and start over. What you get meets code, sits where it should, and carries our Double Lifetime Warranty. This one lasts.

Deck Repair

Why People Call Us Back
We’re Deckorators Elite certified, which isn’t just a title. It means we completed their program, proved we install their products correctly, and can extend your warranties beyond standard coverage. If something goes wrong years down the road, you’ve got us and the manufacturer both handling it.
Composite works better here than wood ever will. It doesn’t soak up moisture, so you skip rot and termite issues completely. Boards don’t expand and contract with the weather, which means they stay flat and gap-free. Maintenance is washing it off when it needs it. Wood requires constant attention and still degrades. Composite costs more initially, but you’re not dealing with replacement cycles or weekend projects to keep it from falling apart.
Hiring certified builders means someone’s accountable. Problems don’t fall into a gray area where nobody takes responsibility. The warranty follows the property if you sell, which makes a difference when buyers are comparing homes.

Certified Elite
We’ve been trained, vetted, and certified by one of the top deck material manufacturers in the country. You get expert-level installation, extended product warranties, and a deck that’s built the right way.

Who's Working on Your Place
Letting contractors onto your property isn’t something people do lightly. Our crew’s been doing this for decades, with a combined experience of over 60 years. They show up when they’re supposed to, tell you who they are, and ask before going into different areas or moving your stuff.
If we find something during the job, bad joists or footings that weren’t done right originally, we tell you right then. Here’s what we found, here’s why it matters, here’s what fixing it costs. No vague answers, no inflated bills at the end.
The site stays contained. Tools go away each evening. Materials aren’t scattered everywhere. When we leave for the day, the area’s clean enough that you can still use your yard normally.
Cleanup Isn't Optional
Construction makes a mess, but we don’t leave it for you to deal with. Materials stay where they belong. We put barriers around plants and landscaping. Your driveway and walkways stay usable.
Scrap, offcuts, packaging, it all goes in our truck daily. Tools get loaded up. Sawdust and nails get cleaned up. You’re not finding construction debris in your flower beds or on your porch.
When the deck’s finished, we do a final pass on everything. You walk out and start using it, that’s it.
What We've Built Around Here
About Etowah, Tennessee
Etowah is a town in McMinn County located between the Hiwassee River and Starr Mountain along Highway 411. The area developed around the railroad in the early 1900s and still carries that history in its layout and architecture. Most residents own their homes on properties with enough yard space for outdoor living. Students attend McMinn County Schools. The town maintains a close community feel despite being near larger areas like Athens and Cleveland. Building here means working with valley humidity, seasonal weather extremes, and soil that behaves differently depending on elevation and drainage patterns.

Absolutely fantastic product, and many thanks to all the folks making our project a big success!!!!
Manny, the crew, the onsite attention to detail, and the office folks were and are great. Everyone’s job from beginning to the nice gift box at the end was to make us happy and to make sure everything they did was great. Could not be happier with our Deckorator deck!
The old 32 year old wooden deck is history. Hey, no problem, go ahead and do a new deck yourself. This is the way we went. We will never regret it. We decided to pay more and love it!!!!

Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution.

Stay In The Know With Your Deck Project
Besides thinking about how much you’re willing to spend on a deck, it’s important to consider the location of your deck. If your deck faces North, for example, you may have limited hours of sun. If your deck faces East or West, you’ll be getting plenty of sun, so shading structures might be a great addition.
Next, think long-term. Wooden decks cost less but require more maintenance, which means both time and money. Composite decks cost more, but they’re hand-off the minute they’re complete. That’s why considering your material options also plays an important role.
If you’re not sure where to start, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to help with a consultation for your deck building project.
We can build many of our decks as quickly as one day. A standard, 12×12 lumber deck can be done in 3 days as well. However, if you want a large, custom deck, the timeline can extend to up to a week or more.
Yes, the state of Tennessee requires a permit for any work done to your home that implies an exit, such as a deck, a patio, or a stoop. The Riverview Decks team will take care of filing for and getting your permits wherever necessary. City inspectors will check every milestone of the project.
While a composite deck may be more expensive up-front, it’s a wise investment in the long run. This is because composite decks are low-maintenance and come with 25-30 years of warranty.
The only maintenance you will need to perform on a composite deck is to pressure wash it every once in awhile. A wooden deck will require periodic staining, as well as replacing warped or cracked boards and stiffening loose handrails.
The price of your deck is influenced by many factors, with size, height, and number of stairs being the most important. Decking surfaces and your choice of materials also matter a lot, as well as handrail options or other features you’d like to add.
Yes! You’ll get an industry-leading lifetime warranty on products and all composite decks.
In addition, our limited-to-lifetime warranty on manufacturer materials ensures that your deck will stay in great condition for as long as you own it.
We're Ready When You Are
You could be outside more. Mornings with coffee, watching the neighborhood wake up. Evenings with family around the table. Having friends over because you’ve finally got the space for it.
We’ve built over a thousand decks for families across East Tennessee. The people who call have been thinking about it for a while and decided to actually do it. Our crew’s got 60+ years of combined experience. Every job comes with a Double Lifetime Workmanship Warranty that protects you as long as you own the home and transfers if you sell.
