Lifetime
Fully

Hey there! I’m Nate, the owner of Riverview Decks. I learned from when I was a kid what decks are really for. Every Sunday, rain or shine, my dad cooked dinner outside on our deck.
No excuses. That was the rule. It didn’t matter what else was going on: we showed up, sat down, and shared a meal as a family. Those nights shaped everything: how we stayed close, how we communicated, how we appreciated the little things.
Now, with every deck I build, I try to recreate that feeling for other people. If I can help you create a beautiful deck where your family comes together, connects, and makes new memories, I’ve done my job.
Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution. They took care of all of the permits and worked with the city to get everything approved.
Their attention to detail and craftsmanship were beyond expectations. We couldn’t be happier with how our new deck turned out and their staff was nothing but true southern hospitality.
Building for Decatur's Location
Decatur sits right on the Tennessee River in Meigs County, which means your property deals with conditions most inland towns don’t face. The river brings humidity that sticks around even after the rain stops. You get hard freezes in winter, then warm spells that thaw everything out, then another freeze. That cycle breaks down wood fast. Add in the wind coming off the water and you need materials that can handle constant exposure without rotting or warping.
We’ve built decks all along this stretch of the river. Composite is what survives here. It doesn’t absorb moisture, so you skip the rot, the insect damage, and the boards that swell and split. We also frame everything to account for how the ground moves near the water. Soil near the river doesn’t drain the same as it does inland, and a deck built without understanding that will show problems within a year or two.

Deck Building
We design around how you’ll actually live on the deck, not just what looks good in a catalog.
You tell us what you’re planning. Maybe you want space for a grill and table, maybe you need steps down to the yard, maybe you want a spot to sit and watch the river in the evenings. We figure out what works on your property, select materials that fit your budget, and handle the whole build from permits to final walkthrough. What you get is a deck that works with your home and your land without becoming something you have to constantly maintain.
Now with lifetime warranty

Deck Replacement
A deck that sags in the middle or has railings that wobble when you touch them isn’t something you patch and hope holds. The structure underneath has failed, and putting new boards on top of a bad frame just delays the collapse.
We remove everything down to the footings, check what’s underneath for damage or settling, and rebuild properly. The new deck will be level, solid, up to code, and backed by our Double Lifetime Warranty.

Deck Repair
Loose railings are dangerous. Rotted boards get worse every season. If the frame is still good, we can reinforce what needs support and replace compromised sections.
We inspect for water damage, check the structural integrity, and identify anything that doesn’t meet current building codes. You’ll know exactly what’s wrong and what it costs to fix before we touch a single board.

Why People Call Us Back
We’re Deckorators Elite certified builders, which means we passed their training program, met their installation standards, and proved we can build their products correctly. That certification gives you extended manufacturer warranties on materials and labor. If something goes wrong years down the line, you’ve got both us and Deckorators standing behind the work.
Working with a certified builder means accountability runs both ways. Problems with materials or installation get handled directly through us to Deckorators. You’re not stuck trying to figure out who’s responsible. The warranty transfers if you sell your home, which adds real value when buyers are comparing properties. You’re making an investment that’s properly backed, not just adding a structure and hoping it holds.

Certified Elite
We’ve been trained, vetted, and certified by one of the top deck material manufacturers in the country. You get expert-level installation, extended product warranties, and a deck that’s built the right way.

The Crew Working on Your Property
Letting people you don’t know onto your property takes trust. Our crew has 60+ years of combined experience, and they approach every job like they’re working on their own home. They arrive when they say they will, introduce themselves, and ask before accessing different parts of your yard or moving anything.
If we find something unexpected during construction, maybe joists that have rotted through or footings that were never set properly, you hear about it right away. We explain what we found, why it’s a problem, and what the correct fix involves. No surprise charges when the bill comes, no vague explanations after the fact.
The work area stays organized. Tools get packed up at the end of each day. Materials are staged where they won’t interfere with how you normally use your yard. When the crew leaves each afternoon, the site is clean and safe. You can still use your property without navigating a construction zone. That’s how we run every job.
We Clean Up Every Day
Construction creates debris, but we keep it contained to the work area. Materials stay in one spot, not scattered across your lawn. We protect existing landscaping before we start. Walkways stay clear so you can get in and out of your house without stepping over tools or lumber.
Every afternoon before leaving, scrap goes in the truck, tools get put away, and we sweep up sawdust and fasteners. You won’t find nails in your driveway or wood scraps on your porch. If we accidentally track something somewhere it doesn’t belong, we clean it immediately. Spills get handled right then, not later.
When the deck is complete, we do a full cleanup of the entire site. You shouldn’t need to do anything except start using your new deck. That’s the standard because we know you’re trusting us with your home.
Decks We've Built Along the River
About Decatur, Tennessee
Decatur is a small town in Meigs County located on the Tennessee River where Highway 58 crosses into Rhea County. The town developed around river commerce and remains tied to the water, with many homes having river access or views. Most residents own their properties, and the area maintains a quiet, rural character. Students attend Meigs County Schools, and the community stays close-knit with families who’ve lived here for generations. Building a deck in Decatur means accounting for river humidity, temperature swings that stress materials, and soil conditions influenced by proximity to water.

Absolutely fantastic product, and many thanks to all the folks making our project a big success!!!!
Manny, the crew, the onsite attention to detail, and the office folks were and are great. Everyone’s job from beginning to the nice gift box at the end was to make us happy and to make sure everything they did was great. Could not be happier with our Deckorator deck!
The old 32 year old wooden deck is history. Hey, no problem, go ahead and do a new deck yourself. This is the way we went. We will never regret it. We decided to pay more and love it!!!!

Jennifer Axley

My project was small when compared to their usual jobs, but Nate and Joe made me feel that they truly valued me as a client.

Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution.

Stay In The Know With Your Deck Project
Besides thinking about how much you’re willing to spend on a deck, it’s important to consider the location of your deck. If your deck faces North, for example, you may have limited hours of sun. If your deck faces East or West, you’ll be getting plenty of sun, so shading structures might be a great addition.
Next, think long-term. Wooden decks cost less but require more maintenance, which means both time and money. Composite decks cost more, but they’re hand-off the minute they’re complete. That’s why considering your material options also plays an important role.
If you’re not sure where to start, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to help with a consultation for your deck building project.
We can build many of our decks as quickly as one day. A standard, 12×12 lumber deck can be done in 3 days as well. However, if you want a large, custom deck, the timeline can extend to up to a week or more.
Yes, the state of Tennessee requires a permit for any work done to your home that implies an exit, such as a deck, a patio, or a stoop. The Riverview Decks team will take care of filing for and getting your permits wherever necessary. City inspectors will check every milestone of the project.
While a composite deck may be more expensive up-front, it’s a wise investment in the long run. This is because composite decks are low-maintenance and come with 25-30 years of warranty.
The only maintenance you will need to perform on a composite deck is to pressure wash it every once in awhile. A wooden deck will require periodic staining, as well as replacing warped or cracked boards and stiffening loose handrails.
The price of your deck is influenced by many factors, with size, height, and number of stairs being the most important. Decking surfaces and your choice of materials also matter a lot, as well as handrail options or other features you’d like to add.
Yes! You’ll get an industry-leading lifetime warranty on products and all composite decks.
In addition, our limited-to-lifetime warranty on manufacturer materials ensures that your deck will stay in great condition for as long as you own it.
