60+
1000+
Double
Fully

Hey there! I’m Nate, the owner of Riverview Decks. I learned from when I was a kid what decks are really for. Every Sunday, rain or shine, my dad cooked dinner outside on our deck.
No excuses. That was the rule. It didn’t matter what else was going on: we showed up, sat down, and shared a meal as a family. Those nights shaped everything: how we stayed close, how we communicated, how we appreciated the little things.
Now, with every deck I build, I try to recreate that feeling for other people. If I can help you create a beautiful deck where your family comes together, connects, and makes new memories, I’ve done my job.
Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution. They took care of all of the permits and worked with the city to get everything approved.
Their attention to detail and craftsmanship were beyond expectations. We couldn’t be happier with how our new deck turned out and their staff was nothing but true southern hospitality.
Building for Townsend's Mountain Weather
Townsend sits at the edge of the Smokies in Blount County, and the elevation here brings weather that tears apart anything not built to handle it. Cold air sinks down from the mountains at night, mornings start with heavy dew, and afternoon storms blow through without warning. Winter means real freezes, not just cold days. The moisture never fully leaves, and wood doesn’t survive that cycle. It swells, cracks, and rots out from the inside.
Composite handles what the mountains throw at it. No absorption means no rot, no warping from constant dampness, no boards splitting when temperatures drop. We frame to account for how mountain soil shifts and drains differently from flatland. Properties here have the space for real outdoor living, but the build has to be done right from the start.

Deck Building
We design for how you’ll use it, not for how it photographs.
You need space for morning coffee, family dinners, or a spot to watch the mountains. We visit, look at your land, and figure out what makes sense. Stairs down to the yard, built-in seating, a pergola, lighting, all of it gets planned together so the pieces work as one. You end up with something functional that fits your home without constant upkeep.
Now with lifetime warranty

Deck Replacement
Boards flexing underfoot and railings shifting when you grab them mean the structure underneath is done. Repairs just delay what needs to happen.
We tear it all out, check the foundation, and rebuild to code. The new deck sits level, holds weight correctly, and comes with our Double Lifetime Warranty. Built to last decades, not seasons.

Deck Repair

Why Clients Come Back to Us
Deckorators Elite certification means we passed their standards and can extend your warranty coverage on materials and labor. When problems happen, both we and the manufacturer back the fix.
Composite survives Townsend’s conditions better than wood. No moisture means no rot or bugs. Boards stay flat through humidity swings. Cleaning takes a hose and soap. Wood needs staining every couple years and still fails. Composite costs more upfront but eliminates replacement and maintenance.
Certified builders mean clear accountability. Problems get resolved through established channels. The warranty stays with your house when you sell, adding real value that buyers notice.

Certified Elite
We’ve been trained, vetted, and certified by one of the top deck material manufacturers in the country. You get expert-level installation, extended product warranties, and a deck that’s built the right way.

The Crew on Your Property
Our crew has 60+ years of experience and treats your home like their own. They arrive on time, introduce themselves, and ask before accessing your yard or moving anything.
Problems found during construction get explained immediately. Rotted framing, bad footings, whatever we uncover, you hear about it when we find it.
Work areas stay organized. Tools get packed daily. Materials are staged away from your normal paths. The site stays clean so you can still use your yard.
We Clean Up Daily
Debris gets contained to the work zone. Materials stay in one spot. Landscaping gets protected before we start. Walkways stay clear.
Scrap goes in the truck before we leave. Tools get stored. Sawdust and fasteners get swept up. No nails in your grass, no debris on your driveway. Mistakes get fixed immediately.
Final cleanup leaves the site ready to use. You shouldn’t touch anything before enjoying your deck.
Projects Across Blount County
About Townsend, Tennessee
Townsend is a small community in Blount County at the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, often called the peaceful side of the Smokies. The area attracts visitors but maintains its quiet character with residents who value the mountain setting. Most homes sit on larger properties with mountain views and mature trees. Students attend Blount County Schools. Building here means accounting for mountain weather patterns, elevation effects on temperature and moisture, and soil conditions that differ from valley locations.

Absolutely fantastic product, and many thanks to all the folks making our project a big success!!!!
Manny, the crew, the onsite attention to detail, and the office folks were and are great. Everyone’s job from beginning to the nice gift box at the end was to make us happy and to make sure everything they did was great. Could not be happier with our Deckorator deck!
The old 32 year old wooden deck is history. Hey, no problem, go ahead and do a new deck yourself. This is the way we went. We will never regret it. We decided to pay more and love it!!!!

Jennifer Axley

Every aspect of the job was conducted in a professional and respectful manner.
My project was small when compared to their usual jobs, but Nate and Joe made me feel that they truly valued me as a client.

Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution.

Stay In The Know With Your Deck Project
Besides thinking about how much you’re willing to spend on a deck, it’s important to consider the location of your deck. If your deck faces North, for example, you may have limited hours of sun. If your deck faces East or West, you’ll be getting plenty of sun, so shading structures might be a great addition.
Next, think long-term. Wooden decks cost less but require more maintenance, which means both time and money. Composite decks cost more, but they’re hand-off the minute they’re complete. That’s why considering your material options also plays an important role.
If you’re not sure where to start, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to help with a consultation for your deck building project.
We can build many of our decks as quickly as one day. A standard, 12×12 lumber deck can be done in 3 days as well. However, if you want a large, custom deck, the timeline can extend to up to a week or more.
Yes, the state of Tennessee requires a permit for any work done to your home that implies an exit, such as a deck, a patio, or a stoop. The Riverview Decks team will take care of filing for and getting your permits wherever necessary. City inspectors will check every milestone of the project.
While a composite deck may be more expensive up-front, it’s a wise investment in the long run. This is because composite decks are low-maintenance and come with 25-30 years of warranty.
The only maintenance you will need to perform on a composite deck is to pressure wash it every once in awhile. A wooden deck will require periodic staining, as well as replacing warped or cracked boards and stiffening loose handrails.
The price of your deck is influenced by many factors, with size, height, and number of stairs being the most important. Decking surfaces and your choice of materials also matter a lot, as well as handrail options or other features you’d like to add.
Yes! You’ll get an industry-leading lifetime warranty on products and all composite decks.
In addition, our limited-to-lifetime warranty on manufacturer materials ensures that your deck will stay in great condition for as long as you own it.
