Double
Fully

Hey there! I’m Nate, the owner of Riverview Decks. I learned from when I was a kid what decks are really for. Every Sunday, rain or shine, my dad cooked dinner outside on our deck.
No excuses. That was the rule. It didn’t matter what else was going on: we showed up, sat down, and shared a meal as a family. Those nights shaped everything: how we stayed close, how we communicated, how we appreciated the little things.
Now, with every deck I build, I try to recreate that feeling for other people. If I can help you create a beautiful deck where your family comes together, connects, and makes new memories, I’ve done my job.
Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution. They took care of all of the permits and worked with the city to get everything approved.
Their attention to detail and craftsmanship were beyond expectations. We couldn’t be happier with how our new deck turned out and their staff was nothing but true southern hospitality.
How Charleston's Climate Tests Every Deck
Charleston sits in Bradley County where the Hiwassee River curves through town, and the weather here runs through extremes that most building materials can’t handle. You get stretches of heat and humidity that won’t break for weeks, rain that comes down hard enough to flood low spots, and cold snaps in winter that freeze moisture trapped in wood and crack it from the inside. Spring brings temperature swings that go from freezing at night to warm by afternoon. Houses around here typically have yards big enough to add real outdoor space, but the construction has to account for how aggressive the weather gets.
Composite materials survive what destroys wood. They don’t absorb water, so they skip the swelling, cracking, and rotting that wood goes through in this climate. We’ve built enough decks in Bradley County to know where water pools, how footings need to be set to handle ground movement, and what happens when framing isn’t done right. A poorly built deck shows its problems within the first year.

Deck Building
Tell us how you live and we’ll build around that instead of guessing what might work.
We visit your home, look at the property, and talk through what fits your situation and budget. You get a deck that works with how your house sits on the land and doesn’t require constant maintenance.
Now with lifetime warranty

Deck Replacement
Sagging sections, soft boards, railings that move under pressure, these are signs the whole structure needs to come out. Patching doesn’t solve anything when the frame has failed.
The rebuild meets current codes, sits level, and comes with our Double Lifetime Warranty. You’re getting something built correctly that will last for decades.

Deck Repair

Why Our Clients Stick With Us
Deckorators Elite certification isn’t something handed out freely. We completed the training, proved we meet their build standards, and earned credentials that extend your warranty coverage on both materials and labor. When issues arise, you’ve got a direct line through us to the manufacturer. Both parties back the work.
Composite beats wood in every category that matters for Charleston’s weather. No moisture absorption means no rot, no insect infestation, no boards that warp and twist as humidity changes. The surface stays smooth because the composite doesn’t splinter. Gaps don’t open up between boards when temperatures shift. Maintenance is hosing it off and scrubbing with soap if it gets dirty. Wood needs stripping and staining every other year, and it still degrades despite the work. Composite costs more initially but saves money and time over the life of the deck.
Certified builders answer to the manufacturer and to you. If materials fail or installation was done wrong, responsibility is clear, and resolution happens through established channels. The warranty transfers with the property when you sell, which buyers notice during comparisons. You’re not just adding square footage, you’re adding value that’s documented and backed.

Certified Elite
We’ve been trained, vetted, and certified by one of the top deck material manufacturers in the country. You get expert-level installation, extended product warranties, and a deck that’s built the right way.

Who You're Letting Onto Your Property
Hiring contractors means trusting people you don’t know with access to your home. Our crew totals 60+ years of experience, and professionalism isn’t optional. They arrive on schedule, identify themselves, and request permission before entering parts of your property or adjusting anything.
Problems discovered during construction are communicated immediately. Rotten joists, unstable footings, issues that weren’t visible until we started tearing into the old structure, you hear about all of it as soon as we find it. We explain the problem, what fixing it properly entails, and what the cost adjustment will be. No ambiguity, no padding invoices after the fact.
Work zones stay contained. Tools go back in the truck every evening. Materials get staged away from foot traffic and daily use areas. The site gets cleaned before the crew leaves each day, so you’re not navigating a disaster zone when you get home. You can still function normally in your yard. That’s non-negotiable on our jobs.
Daily Cleanup Is Standard
Debris happens during construction, but containing it is part of the job. Material deliveries stay in designated spots. Protective barriers go up around plants and landscaping before work starts. Pathways between your house and the street stay accessible.
Scrap lumber, offcuts, packaging, all of it goes in the truck before the crew leaves. Tools get packed. Sawdust and loose fasteners get swept up. You won’t find nails in your grass or wood pieces scattered across the driveway. Mistakes get corrected immediately. Spills don’t sit and stain.
Final cleanup happens when the deck is finished. The site gets cleared completely. You walk out your back door and start using the deck without needing to clean up after us first. That’s how we’ve always operated because your home deserves that level of respect.
What Charleston Homeowners Say About Us
About Charleston, Tennessee
Charleston is the county seat of Bradley County, located where the Hiwassee River bends through the valley south of Cleveland. The town grew around agriculture and river commerce, and while industry has shifted over the decades, the community maintains its small-town roots. Most residents own homes on properties with enough yard space for gardens, workshops, and outdoor living areas. Students attend Bradley County Schools, and the area retains a slower pace compared to nearby Chattanooga or Cleveland. Building a deck here means working with river valley humidity, temperature extremes between seasons, and soil that drains unevenly, depending on proximity to water.

Absolutely fantastic product, and many thanks to all the folks making our project a big success!!!!
Manny, the crew, the onsite attention to detail, and the office folks were and are great. Everyone’s job from beginning to the nice gift box at the end was to make us happy and to make sure everything they did was great. Could not be happier with our Deckorator deck!
The old 32 year old wooden deck is history. Hey, no problem, go ahead and do a new deck yourself. This is the way we went. We will never regret it. We decided to pay more and love it!!!!

Jennifer Axley

My project was small when compared to their usual jobs, but Nate and Joe made me feel that they truly valued me as a client.

Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution.

Stay In The Know With Your Deck Project
Besides thinking about how much you’re willing to spend on a deck, it’s important to consider the location of your deck. If your deck faces North, for example, you may have limited hours of sun. If your deck faces East or West, you’ll be getting plenty of sun, so shading structures might be a great addition.
Next, think long-term. Wooden decks cost less but require more maintenance, which means both time and money. Composite decks cost more, but they’re hand-off the minute they’re complete. That’s why considering your material options also plays an important role.
If you’re not sure where to start, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to help with a consultation for your deck building project.
We can build many of our decks as quickly as one day. A standard, 12×12 lumber deck can be done in 3 days as well. However, if you want a large, custom deck, the timeline can extend to up to a week or more.
Yes, the state of Tennessee requires a permit for any work done to your home that implies an exit, such as a deck, a patio, or a stoop. The Riverview Decks team will take care of filing for and getting your permits wherever necessary. City inspectors will check every milestone of the project.
While a composite deck may be more expensive up-front, it’s a wise investment in the long run. This is because composite decks are low-maintenance and come with 25-30 years of warranty.
The only maintenance you will need to perform on a composite deck is to pressure wash it every once in awhile. A wooden deck will require periodic staining, as well as replacing warped or cracked boards and stiffening loose handrails.
The price of your deck is influenced by many factors, with size, height, and number of stairs being the most important. Decking surfaces and your choice of materials also matter a lot, as well as handrail options or other features you’d like to add.
Yes! You’ll get an industry-leading lifetime warranty on products and all composite decks.
In addition, our limited-to-lifetime warranty on manufacturer materials ensures that your deck will stay in great condition for as long as you own it.
Let's Make This Happen
Mornings outside with coffee while the neighborhood wakes up. Family meals on the deck instead of crowded around the kitchen table. Friends coming over because you finally have space to host properly. You’ve been thinking about it long enough.
We’ve built over a thousand decks for families across East Tennessee. The people who call aren’t different from you. They wanted more usable space, they got tired of thinking about it without doing anything, and they picked up the phone.
Sixty-plus years of combined crew experience. A Double Lifetime Workmanship Warranty covering you through ownership and transferring if you sell. Materials and installation backed by both us and the manufacturer.
