Fully

Hey there! I’m Nate, the owner of Riverview Decks. I learned from when I was a kid what decks are really for. Every Sunday, rain or shine, my dad cooked dinner outside on our deck.
No excuses. That was the rule. It didn’t matter what else was going on: we showed up, sat down, and shared a meal as a family. Those nights shaped everything: how we stayed close, how we communicated, how we appreciated the little things.
Now, with every deck I build, I try to recreate that feeling for other people. If I can help you create a beautiful deck where your family comes together, connects, and makes new memories, I’ve done my job.
Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution. They took care of all of the permits and worked with the city to get everything approved.
Their attention to detail and craftsmanship were beyond expectations. We couldn’t be happier with how our new deck turned out and their staff was nothing but true southern hospitality.
Building Decks That Survive McMinn County Weather
Englewood sits in the Chestuee Creek Valley with the Unicoi Mountains rising to the south, and anyone who’s lived here a few years knows what that geography means for anything built outside. The valley traps humidity, summer afternoons bring sudden thunderstorms, and winter freezes hit hard enough to crack poorly built structures. Most homes around here have decent-sized yards with mature trees, which gives you room to build something substantial, but only if it’s done with materials that can handle the temperature swings and moisture without falling apart.
We’ve built decks all through McMinn County, and composite is what holds up. We also frame everything with proper drainage and anchor points because the soil here settles, and a deck that wasn’t built right from the ground up will show problems within a year.

Deck Building
Your deck gets designed for how you’ll actually live on it. We handle the whole process: figuring out what fits your property, selecting materials that make sense for your budget, adding lighting or pergolas if you want them. What you end up with is something that works with your home and your land, built to last without becoming a maintenance burden.

Why People Around Here Call Us Back
We’re Deckorators Elite certified builders, which means we completed their training program, passed their installation standards, and proved we can build their products correctly. That certification gets you extended manufacturer warranties on both materials and labor. If something goes wrong years down the line, you’ve got both us and Deckorators standing behind the work.
Composite decking performs better in Englewood’s climate than wood can. It doesn’t absorb moisture, so you don’t deal with rot or insect damage. The boards don’t swell and shrink with humidity changes, which means no gaps forming, no splinters, and a surface that stays level. Cleaning is soap and water when it needs it. Wood requires staining every other year and still ends up gray and warped despite the work. The initial cost for composite is higher, but you’re not replacing boards or spending weekends maintaining it.
Working with a certified builder means you’re hiring someone accountable to both the manufacturer and you. Problems with materials or installation go directly through us to Deckorators. You’re not stuck trying to figure out who’s responsible. The warranty transfers when you sell your home, which adds measurable value to your property. You’re making an investment that’s properly backed, not just adding a structure.

Certified Elite
We’ve been trained, vetted, and certified by one of the top deck material manufacturers in the country. You get expert-level installation, extended product warranties, and a deck that’s built the right way.

The Crew That Shows Up at Your House
Letting people you don’t know work on your property takes trust. Our crew has 60+ years of combined experience, and they approach every job like it’s their own home. They arrive on time, introduce themselves, and ask before accessing different parts of your property or moving anything.
When we find something unexpected during construction, maybe joists that are rotted through or footings that weren’t set properly originally, you hear about it immediately. We explain what we found, why it’s a problem, and what it takes to fix it correctly. No surprises when the final bill comes, no “oh by the way” conversations after the work is done.
The workspace stays organized. Tools get packed up at the end of each day. Materials are staged where they won’t interfere with your normal routines. When the crew leaves in the afternoon, the site is clean and safe. You can still use your yard. That’s how we operate on every job.
We Don't Leave a Mess Behind
Construction creates debris, but we keep it contained to the work area. Materials stay in one location, not spread across your lawn. We protect landscaping before we start working. Pathways stay clear so you can get in and out of your house without navigating an obstacle course.
Every afternoon before leaving, scrap gets hauled to the truck, tools are put away, and we sweep up sawdust and fasteners. You won’t find construction debris on your driveway or patio. If we accidentally track something somewhere it doesn’t belong, we clean it right then. Spills get handled immediately, not left for later.
When the deck is complete, we do a full cleanup of everything. You shouldn’t need to do anything except start using your new deck. That’s the standard because we know you’re trusting us with your home.
Decks We've Built in the Area
About Englewood, Tennessee
Englewood is a small town in McMinn County tucked into the Chestuee Creek Valley with the Unicoi Mountains visible to the south. The town has roots in textile manufacturing dating back to the 1800s, and while those mills have closed, the community still carries that working-class character. Most residents own their homes, and the area maintains a slower pace compared to nearby Knoxville or Chattanooga. Students attend schools in the McMinn County School District, and the Town of Englewood remains a tight-knit community where people know their neighbors. Building a deck here means accounting for valley humidity, seasonal temperature extremes, and soil that settles over time.

Absolutely fantastic product, and many thanks to all the folks making our project a big success!!!!
Manny, the crew, the onsite attention to detail, and the office folks were and are great. Everyone’s job from beginning to the nice gift box at the end was to make us happy and to make sure everything they did was great. Could not be happier with our Deckorator deck!
The old 32 year old wooden deck is history. Hey, no problem, go ahead and do a new deck yourself. This is the way we went. We will never regret it. We decided to pay more and love it!!!!

Jennifer Axley
This company is a top class business.
Every aspect of the job was conducted in a professional and respectful manner.
My project was small when compared to their usual jobs, but Nate and Joe made me feel that they truly valued me as a client.

Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution.

Stay In The Know With Your Deck Project
Besides thinking about how much you’re willing to spend on a deck, it’s important to consider the location of your deck. If your deck faces North, for example, you may have limited hours of sun. If your deck faces East or West, you’ll be getting plenty of sun, so shading structures might be a great addition.
Next, think long-term. Wooden decks cost less but require more maintenance, which means both time and money. Composite decks cost more, but they’re hand-off the minute they’re complete. That’s why considering your material options also plays an important role.
If you’re not sure where to start, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to help with a consultation for your deck building project.
We can build many of our decks as quickly as one day. A standard, 12×12 lumber deck can be done in 3 days as well. However, if you want a large, custom deck, the timeline can extend to up to a week or more.
Yes, the state of Tennessee requires a permit for any work done to your home that implies an exit, such as a deck, a patio, or a stoop. The Riverview Decks team will take care of filing for and getting your permits wherever necessary. City inspectors will check every milestone of the project.
While a composite deck may be more expensive up-front, it’s a wise investment in the long run. This is because composite decks are low-maintenance and come with 25-30 years of warranty.
The only maintenance you will need to perform on a composite deck is to pressure wash it every once in awhile. A wooden deck will require periodic staining, as well as replacing warped or cracked boards and stiffening loose handrails.
The price of your deck is influenced by many factors, with size, height, and number of stairs being the most important. Decking surfaces and your choice of materials also matter a lot, as well as handrail options or other features you’d like to add.
Yes! You’ll get an industry-leading lifetime warranty on products and all composite decks.
In addition, our limited-to-lifetime warranty on manufacturer materials ensures that your deck will stay in great condition for as long as you own it.
Ready to Build Something That Lasts?
There’s a version of your life where you’re outside more. Where Saturday mornings are spent on the deck with coffee instead of staring at your phone inside. Where your family actually gathers for dinner on nice evenings because you have somewhere comfortable to be. Where friends come over because you’ve got the space to host them properly.
That version isn’t some far-off dream. We’ve built it over a thousand times for families across East Tennessee. The people who call us are the ones who’ve been thinking about this for months, maybe years, and finally decided to stop putting it off.
Our crew brings 60+ years of combined experience, and we back every deck with a Double Lifetime Workmanship Warranty that covers you as long as you own your home and transfers if you sell.
