Nate Burket, owner of Riverview Decks, deck builder in Knoxville, Tennesee

Hey there! I’m Nate, the owner of Riverview Decks. I learned from when I was a kid what decks are really for. Every Sunday, rain or shine, my dad cooked dinner outside on our deck.

No excuses. That was the rule. It didn’t matter what else was going on: we showed up, sat down, and shared a meal as a family. Those nights shaped everything: how we stayed close, how we communicated, how we appreciated the little things.

Now, with every deck I build, I try to recreate that feeling for other people. If I can help you create a beautiful deck where your family comes together, connects, and makes new memories, I’ve done my job.

Riverview Decks were amazing. They didn’t just sell us materials, but worked with us to develop the right solution. They took care of all of the permits and worked with the city to get everything approved.

Their attention to detail and craftsmanship were beyond expectations. We couldn’t be happier with how our new deck turned out and their staff was nothing but true southern hospitality.

Decks That Handle Vonore's Lake Country Weather

Living near Tellico Lake means your outdoor spaces deal with serious humidity, long summers, and those afternoon storms that roll through without warning. The Tennessee Valley climate doesn’t give wood a fighting chance.

We’ve seen too many decks around here that looked good for maybe two seasons before the moisture got in, the boards started warping, and the whole thing became a maintenance nightmare. Most homes in Vonore have the yard space to build something really nice, but only if you use materials that can actually hold up.

Composite decking wins here because it sheds water instead of soaking it up. We pair that with proper ventilation underneath and drainage that moves water away from the foundation. The soil near the lake shifts more than people realize, so we anchor everything deep and frame it right from the start. A deck that settles or sags after a year wasn’t built correctly to begin with.

Deck Building

Your deck gets designed around how you’ll actually use it. We handle the layout, pick materials that make sense for your property, and add features like built-in lighting or a pergola if that’s what you’re after. The end result fits your home and lasts for decades without turning into a part-time job every spring.

Now with lifetime warranty

As long as your deck stands, we’ll cover our craftsmanship, and even transfer it if you decide to sell your home! Enjoy the only infinity warranty in Tennessee!

Deck Replacement

When your deck starts sagging or the boards are splintering underfoot, patching it together just delays the inevitable. We remove everything down to the posts, check the foundation for problems, and rebuild from scratch. You get a level, solid deck that meets current codes and comes with our lifetime warranty. No band-aid fixes that’ll fall apart in a few years.

Deck Repair

Loose railings and rotted boards get worse if you ignore them. We handle structural fixes, swap out damaged boards, upgrade railings, and treat any pest damage we find. If the frame is still solid, we’ll shore up what needs reinforcement and replace what’s too far gone. You’ll know exactly what needs fixing and why before we touch anything.

The Credentials That Actually Matter

We’re certified Elite builders by Deckorators, one of the top composite decking manufacturers in the country. That certification means we completed hands-on training, passed their installation standards, and proved we can build their products the right way. You get extended manufacturer warranties covering materials and labor, so if something goes wrong, you’ve got both us and Deckorators backing the work.

Working with a certified builder means you’re hiring someone who’s accountable to both the manufacturer and you. If there’s a problem with materials or installation, we handle it directly with Deckorators. You’re not stuck in the middle. The warranty transfers when you sell, which adds real value to your home. You’re getting a long-term investment that’s properly backed, not just a deck.

Certified Elite

We’ve been trained, vetted, and certified by one of the top deck material manufacturers in the country. You get expert-level installation, extended product warranties, and a deck that’s built the right way.

Who You're Letting Work on Your Home

Letting strangers work on your home takes trust, and we don’t take that lightly. Our crew has 60+ years of combined experience building decks, and they treat every property like it’s their own. They show up on time, introduce themselves, and ask before moving anything or accessing parts of your yard.

If we find something unexpected during the build, maybe rotted framing hidden under old boards or a plumbing line that wasn’t marked, you hear about it immediately. We explain what we found, why it matters, and what it takes to handle it. No surprises after the fact, no “oh by the way” conversations when the bill comes.

The crew keeps the workspace organized, tools packed up at the end of each day, and materials staged where they won’t be in your way. When they leave for the day, the site is clean and safe. You can still use your yard. That’s standard operating procedure for us, every job, every time.

Your Yard Won't Turn Into a Disaster Zone

Construction makes a mess, but we contain it. Materials stay in one spot, not spread across your lawn. We put down protection before we work near flower beds or hardscaping. Walkways stay clear. If we need to move something, we ask first.

Every afternoon before the crew leaves, scrap gets hauled off, tools go back in the truck, and we sweep up sawdust and fasteners. You’re not finding debris in your driveway or on your patio. If we accidentally track something into a space we shouldn’t, we clean it immediately. Spills get handled when they happen.

When the deck is finished, we do a full cleanup that covers every inch of the work area. You shouldn’t have to do anything except enjoy your new deck. That’s the standard, and we don’t compromise on it.

Decks We've Built Around Here

We’ve worked on lakefront properties, hillside lots, and flat backyards all over Loudon County. Some projects needed us to work around mature trees, others required managing steep elevation changes or tying into existing structures. The common thread is solid construction that holds up year after year.

About Vonore, Tennessee

Vonore is a small lakeside town in Loudon County along Tellico Lake, surrounded by quiet neighborhoods and easy access to the Cherokee National Forest. The community leans heavily on outdoor living, with many homeowners investing in decks and patios that take advantage of the natural setting. Fort Loudoun State Historic Park sits nearby, and families here are served by the Loudon County School District. The mix of lake access and rural character attracts people who want space and a slower pace. Building a deck in Vonore means accounting for humidity, seasonal storms, and soil conditions that come with living near the water.

Absolutely fantastic product, and many thanks to all the folks making our project a big success!!!!

Manny, the crew, the onsite attention to detail, and the office folks were and are great. Everyone’s job from beginning to the nice gift box at the end was to make us happy and to make sure everything they did was great. Could not be happier with our Deckorator deck!

The old 32 year old wooden deck is history. Hey, no problem, go ahead and do a new deck yourself. This is the way we went. We will never regret it. We decided to pay more and love it!!!!

Stay In The Know With Your Deck Project

Besides thinking about how much you’re willing to spend on a deck, it’s important to consider the location of your deck. If your deck faces North, for example, you may have limited hours of sun. If your deck faces East or West, you’ll be getting plenty of sun, so shading structures might be a great addition.

Next, think long-term. Wooden decks cost less but require more maintenance, which means both time and money. Composite decks cost more, but they’re hand-off the minute they’re complete. That’s why considering your material options also plays an important role.

If you’re not sure where to start, give us a call, and we’ll be happy to help with a consultation for your deck building project.

We can build many of our decks as quickly as one day. A standard, 12×12 lumber deck can be done in 3 days as well. However, if you want a large, custom deck, the timeline can extend to up to a week or more.

Yes, the state of Tennessee requires a permit for any work done to your home that implies an exit, such as a deck, a patio, or a stoop. The Riverview Decks team will take care of filing for and getting your permits wherever necessary. City inspectors will check every milestone of the project.

While a composite deck may be more expensive up-front, it’s a wise investment in the long run. This is because composite decks are low-maintenance and come with 25-30 years of warranty.

The only maintenance you will need to perform on a composite deck is to pressure wash it every once in awhile. A wooden deck will require periodic staining, as well as replacing warped or cracked boards and stiffening loose handrails.

The price of your deck is influenced by many factors, with size, height, and number of stairs being the most important. Decking surfaces and your choice of materials also matter a lot, as well as handrail options or other features you’d like to add.

Yes! You’ll get an industry-leading lifetime warranty on products and all composite decks.

In addition, our limited-to-lifetime warranty on manufacturer materials ensures that your deck will stay in great condition for as long as you own it.

When You're Ready to Build Something Real

You know that feeling when you’re at someone else’s house and they’ve got this beautiful deck, and everyone’s gathered outside, and you think “I want this at my place”? That’s what we build. Spaces where people actually want to be.

We’ve been doing this work for over two decades, and every deck we build comes with a lifetime warranty. We’re not going anywhere, and neither is the work we do. The people who call us are usually folks who care about getting things done right, who want to work with someone local they can trust, and who are ready to finally have the outdoor space they’ve been wanting.
