Part One: The Deck Inspection
This client had an old deck that was starting to rot and decay at the framing.
The old deck fulfilled its mission, but times were changing and the family felt like they’ve earned an upgrade.
Robert contacted us at the beginning of July for an estimate, and that’s how it all started.
Some of the issues with the old deck were…
- Posts were burried in the ground
- Railing was not up to code
- There was rot and decay on the frame
- The stairs were also rotten
- Several nails and brackets missing
- The floorboards were faded and damaged

Part Two: The Design, Planning, Permitting
We believe the design and planning are two of the most important aspects of building a deck. We do it right and we do it with you because it allows you to see exactly what you’re getting. The better we plan everything, the less delays and miscommunications we’ll run into.
Part Three: Ready For The Replacement
We ran into one or two issues with the permits, but we eventually managed to get the permits for the new deck and pass all inspections.
After we got the necessary permits to start, we got straight to work.
The timeline was simple…

Deckorators Composite - Venture Series Sandbar
We installed 192 sq. ft. of composite decking, perfect for homeowners who want to avoid sealing, staining, or other repairs. Composite decking is durable, cold to the touch, comfortable to walk barefoot on, and is guaranteed to last a lifetime.
Westbury Aluminum Railing
We installed all straight and stair aluminum railing up to the highest standards in the industry. There were 40 linear feet of straight railing and 4 linear feet of stairs railing, all in Westbury C-10 metal railing with lifetime warranty.
KDHT Lumber Framing
We had to use 192 sq. ft. of framing material. For both ledger board and framing, we used 2’x10′ lumber 12″ on-center. This is the most cost-efficient framing material, and our go-to for all deck building projects.
